CRAFTING THE NEXT BADMINTON STAR
Amit is an NCCP Certified coach with over 10 years of coaching experience in India. He is also the part time coach at the University of Calgary. Kshatriya Badminton Academy (KBA), Calgary is his latest venture but with old and strong roots from his academy in Mumbai. The Mumbai academy has produced and continues to produce several National level players each year.
Amit started playing at the age of 13, under the expert guidance of his uncle Santosh Kshatriya, who is a world class badminton player and coach in India.
Amit was the undisputed winner in all his Inter-school tournaments. He quickly progressed to representing at Mumbai at District level for many years. Later, he went on to lead the State team at the Mumbai University Championship and won the event five times.
Subsequently, he represented India at World University Championship as the Team leader. He also had the privilege of training under International players and coaches, like Prakesh Padukone, Pullela Gopichand, Tom John, Anup Sridhar, Vimal Kumar, Arde Viyanata among others. Having reached the professional level, Amit frequently trained with International players like H S Prannoy, Parupali Kashyap, Guru Sai Datt, B Sai Praneeth, Subankar Dey, Sourabh Varma, Ajay Jayram, Ygor Coelho (Brazil), P V Sindhu, Ashwini Ponnappa, Sikki Reddy, and many others.
